About Meriton and Project Ignite
Meriton operates nationally, driving innovation in HVAC through a collaborative network of specialized companies, enhancing operations and value for both partners and employees. Project Ignite is a major enterprise initiative aimed at integrating over 20 operating companies onto a unified Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Project Operations platform. The program is designed as a deployment factory to implement several entities yearly, including migrations with varying complexity and integration needs.
Role Overview
The Data Analyst will contribute to this large-scale transformation by preparing, assessing, mapping, validating, and migrating data for deployments of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Project Operations linked through dual-write. This position suits candidates with solid SQL expertise, relevant business or MIS education, and hands-on experience with reporting or analytics tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams to convert source data into reliable, auditable migration outputs and aid system readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and profile legacy data to evaluate source system preparedness, identifying dependencies, gaps, and quality concerns for upcoming deployments.
- Leverage SQL skills to extract, join, cross-check, and reconcile data from source systems, staging files, and targets.
- Create and update mapping documents, data quality logs, reconciliation worksheets, and extraction inventories to support migration.
- Establish migration playbooks, consistent file governance standards, naming conventions, and handoff processes scalable across multiple entities.
- Interpret business rules, legacy field applications, and unique operational processes into detailed mapping logic, transformation rules, and documented needs.
- Engage with business stakeholders to grasp data generation, maintenance, and operational use, assessing compliance with target system requirements.
- Take ownership of the data function for designated operating companies during later rollouts, managing extraction, analysis, mapping, offline migration activities, issue resolution, and communications.
- Develop standardized templates and reusable procedures to streamline future deployment waves and reduce reliance on individual judgments.
- Collaborate closely with Business Systems Analysts, Solution Architects, Integration Engineers, QA, and subject matter experts to facilitate testing, mock conversions, cutover preparation, and post-go-live support.
- Monitor open issues, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and status updates, escalating obstacles promptly and ensuring clear stakeholder communication.
- Coordinate offline migration tasks including file preparation, validation, scheduling, and business messaging.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and dress rehearsals by confirming data quality, diagnosing defects, documenting findings, and verifying remediation.
- Potentially support or manage data pipelines, ETL workflows, and Microsoft Fabric components related to migration, transformation, or reporting as needed.
- Document SQL code, mapping assumptions, transformation procedures, issue resolutions, and repeatable processes to enable reuse in future waves.
- Prepare and maintain training materials, runbooks, and reference documents for recurring tasks like extraction, mapping, validation, and offline migration.
- Gain working knowledge of Dynamics 365 data entities, data projects, staging concepts, and Power Platform tools relevant to reporting and integration.
- Contribute feedback and lessons learned from test cycles and deployments to enhance the program’s data migration capabilities.
Success Attributes
- A focus on standardization by prioritizing templates and documentation over customization.
- Strong commitment to thorough documentation of playbooks and delivery outputs.
- Collaborative approach balanced with the confidence to challenge requirements that jeopardize program consistency or timelines.
- A proactive ownership mindset to resolve issues completely rather than passing them on.
- Comfort dealing with ambiguity and helping to define processes during early stages of program development.
Additional Duties
- Maintain regular, clear communication to meet business needs.
- Support leadership and team members on research or special projects as necessary.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Conduct oneself ethically and responsibly in compliance with company policies.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
- Five to eight years of experience focusing on ERP business analysis, financial systems, or finance operations, with emphasis on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations depth over duration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL; experience with Microsoft Fabric or Power BI considered beneficial.
- Direct involvement in at least one full-fledged Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementation or major module rollout.
- Experience in UAT, data validation, or cutover processes within ERP implementations using agile methodologies with sprint deliverables.
- Preferred experience includes Dynamics 365 Project Operations, project-based billing, multi-entity rollouts, Power BI or financial reporting tools, and data migration concepts in Dynamics 365.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Work Environment
The primary office location is the Shared Services office in Irving, Texas. Work environment is a corporate office setting with moderate noise and temperature, allowing for telework, work from home, travel, or satellite locations based on project demands and supervisory approval. Occasional travel by plane or car may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Capability to walk, bend, stand, and reach during the workday.
- Ability to lift 15 to 20 pounds.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods (4-5 hours) occasionally.
- Travel via airplane or automobile to various events as necessary.
