Data Analyst - Quality Assurance

Role Overview

This position entails managing all facets of quality assurance to ensure data accuracy and adherence to best industry standards within the Data & Business Intelligence (BI) Implementation team. The role involves developing metrics, applying QA processes, and collaborating closely with ETL and BI teams to execute thorough testing and performance optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance initiatives by establishing reliable metrics and employing industry best practices.
• Ensure the Data & BI Implementation team follows formal QA methodologies.
• Validate data accuracy within SQL and SSIS environments, maintaining clear documentation of tests and defects.
• Identify opportunities for performance improvements and address stale or incorrect calculations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for QA aspects concerning software releases, coordinating internal and external testing resources.
• Develop and review test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures — both manual and automated — and oversee their execution.
• Manage the complete data and BI solution lifecycle tests including unit, regression, functional, system, stress, scale, smoke, and sanity tests.
• Utilize strong functional testing and automation experience to ensure quality deliverables.
• Analyze processes by breaking them down and testing multiple scenarios at each step.
• Track and diagnose defects from discovery through resolution.
• Adhere strictly to testing schedules and quality requirements defined in the testing plan.
• Collaborate with data warehouse architects, ETL leads, and BI developers to build and execute relevant test scenarios across development, test, and production environments.
• Perform BI user experience testing, execute BI and ETL runs, and maintain quality monitoring dashboards and reports.
