Position Overview
This role focuses on overseeing the incoming quality of Balance of Plant (BOP) components to prevent any disruptions caused by quality deficiencies. The incumbent will ensure adherence to quality systems and complete implementation of the group quality strategy across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming inspections of BOP parts and manage ERP clearance efficiently.
- Communicate quality issues regarding incoming parts, production line, and customer feedback to suppliers and the Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team for containment and root cause analysis. Verify corrective and preventive measures with relevant parties.
- Ensure compliance with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), First Article Inspection (FAI), and related documentation for new developments, alternative developments, and Production Change Requests (PCR). Prepare inspection quality plans (IQP), and verify Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), packing standards, etc., adhering to FAI checklists.
- Apply QRQC/WIM methodologies to manage quality problems in incoming, line, and zero kilometer parts, ensuring response times of 2, 10, and 30 days respectively.
- Maintain inspection requirements as per end customer and third-party inspection norms.
- Aim to achieve zero production losses due to part quality issues by optimizing inspection processes and introducing specialized fixtures and gauges.
- Oversee and update green channel status following regulatory guidelines.
- Manage skill matrices and provide quality-related training to the team.
- Implement Integrated Management System (IMS) standards, including Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 45001, Energy Management System (EnMS), IRIS requirements, and group procedures.
- Coordinate third-party chemical, mechanical, and rubber testing from NABL-accredited laboratories.
- Ensure proper layout, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) are carried out as planned.
- Analyze red bin data and resolve supplier rejection issues within specified timelines, maintaining accurate documentation and Oracle transactions.
- Manage calibration and annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for plant instruments, gauges, and equipment.
- Prepare and update weekly and monthly quality reports and present them to management.
- Meet allocated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Result Areas (KRAs), maintaining consistent monthly tracking.
- Champion quality improvement, cost-saving initiatives, Kaizens, and suggestion programs.
- Exercise authority to halt operations where quality or safety protocols are compromised.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Production and Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
