GCP Data Engineer

Role Overview

Tata Consultancy Services is looking for a GCP Data Engineer for its Kolkata location. This position focuses on building and supporting data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, with an emphasis on scalable pipelines, warehousing, and cloud-based data processing.

Technical and Functional Skills

• You should have strong hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, especially Cloud Dataflow, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer.
• A solid foundation in data engineering is needed, including data modeling, ETL workflows, and data warehousing practices.
• Experience with cloud storage, Dataproc, Cloud Functions, and streaming or messaging systems such as Pub/Sub is important.
• You must be comfortable programming in Python, Java, or SQL.
• Understanding of data governance practices, including data quality, security, and compliance, is expected.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Relevant Google Cloud certifications, such as Professional Data Engineer or Enterprise Data Engineer, are preferred.
• Exposure to big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases will be useful.
• Experience with machine learning tools like TensorFlow or Scikit-learn is an added advantage.
• Prior work with other cloud data platforms such as AWS or Azure is also desirable.
