Role Overview

The General Operative is tasked with ensuring the precise and efficient filling of a variety of dairy products into tubs or foil packaging. This role demands an in-depth knowledge of the product range and the capability to adjust machine settings accurately, following work instructions. The incumbent will need to proactively address any operational issues, maintain a high level of quality, and support site health and safety initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Comprehend product characteristics and their behavior during filling into tubs or foil packaging.
• Master control console commands and screen functions, taking responsibility for machine parameter setups for different product types, including performing sequenced events and timely corrective actions.
• Reference Manufacturing Orders to verify product specifications.
• Set up ink-jet printers properly, ensuring the printing head is correctly positioned and inputting relevant product data according to Manufacturing Orders.
• Perform X-Ray testing and verify the effectiveness of the metal detection system.
• Physically alter internal machine components as needed for product changes.
• Continuously monitor machines during production; promptly clear any blockages or spills and clean spillages immediately.
• Prepare machinery for cleaning in line with quality schedules; disassemble components manually for hand washing and perform CIP (clean-in-place) procedures, completing associated documentation.
• Contribute actively to the Site Health and Safety Strategy and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
