Greenhouse Labourer

Overview

This is a full-time onsite role located in Delta, British Columbia, focused on greenhouse agricultural operations. There is no option for remote work, and tasks will be conducted physically at the work site.

Languages and Education

• Fluency in English is required.
• Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
• No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is necessary.

Experience and Training

No prior experience is mandatory, as training will be provided.

Work Environment

• The job takes place mainly in rural and remote areas across various greenhouse locations.
• Tasks include harvesting crops and maintaining greenhouse conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Harvest seedlings and crops.
• Clean crops and the greenhouse environment.
• Mix and prepare fertilizers and soils.
• Tie and secure plants as needed.
• Write daily progress reports summarizing basic activities.
• Plant bulbs, seeds, and cultivate crops.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides; report any signs of insect or disease damage promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Perform general farm and irrigation duties related to crop cultivation.

Additional Information

• Transportation: Candidates must have their own transportation as public transit is not available to the site.
• Physical Demands: The role requires standing for long durations and meticulous attention to detail.
• Personal Attributes: Reliability and ability to work in a team are critical.
