About the Role
The Inventory Controller at Qatar Chemical Company will be responsible for executing comprehensive inventory management strategies including inventory control initiatives, management of master data, and ensuring the accuracy of physical stock aligning with financial records. The role involves close coordination with end users to identify cost-saving opportunities and implementing best practices to optimize inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate master data by creating new material records and updating existing ones in SAP and EWM systems, ensuring consistency and compliance with data governance policies.
- Perform MRP (Material Requirement Planning) activities as required.
- Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and warehouse teams to validate material details such as descriptions, units of measure, and classifications.
- Identify and correct data irregularities including duplicate or obsolete materials.
- Oversee inventory levels to maintain optimal stock availability while minimizing excess inventory, tracking stock movements including receipts, issues, and transfers.
- Lead physical inventory count planning and execution.
- Prepare, monitor, and analyze KPIs related to inventory management.
- Detect slow-moving, obsolete, or surplus stock and work with procurement and end-user departments to formulate actionable plans.
- Proactively identify stock-out or overstock risks and notify stakeholders with data-driven recommendations.
- Verify and post service entries for warehouse-owned contracts.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and productivity within inventory management systems and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and instructions to maintain controlled and consistent operations.
- Maintain compliance with quality, health, safety, security, and environmental standards and regulations to promote workplace safety and high-quality deliverables.
- Generate timely and accurate inventory reports to provide management with transparency on inventory status and progress.
- Support Qatarization initiatives by contributing to the development of Qatari employees (applicable for expatriate employees).
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- High School Diploma (12th grade) or 10th grade plus vocational training with a minimum of 5 years relevant warehouse experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Alternatively, a 2-year diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field with at least 4 years warehouse experience in Oil & Gas.
- Or a 3-year diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, or related area with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience working with SAP modules involved in inventory management.
