Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled IT Business Analyst to join our consulting group and support a strategic software engineering project in the insurance domain. This position bridges business analysis, software development, and AI-driven innovation, facilitating communication between business leaders, software engineers, and data science professionals. The successful candidate will possess a strong grasp of modern application development and effectively convert business needs into actionable, clear requirements. Experience with AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or intelligent automation, especially in data-centric settings, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough business and technical requirements gathering and documentation for software projects.
Transform business goals into user stories, use cases, process diagrams, functional and non-functional specifications.
Serve as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
Assist with backlog refinement, prioritization, and clarifying requirements within Agile teams.
Collaborate with developers, architects, QA, and DevOps to ensure clear understanding and feasibility of requirements.
Document system integrations, APIs, workflows, and data flows.
Engage in solution design discussions providing a business perspective to technical decisions.
Verify that implemented solutions align with business goals and expected results.
Support AI-related initiatives including machine learning models, automation, and intelligent workflows.
Identify technological opportunities for improving efficiency, decision-making, customer experience, and operations.
Define and document AI use cases addressing business value, risks, constraints, and success criteria.
Work with technical teams to specify requirements regarding data handling, model outputs, explainability, governance, and compliance.
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
Ensure solution scope and timelines align with business priorities.
Support documentation, change management, and end-user readiness processes.

Qualifications

5 to 10+ years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst involved in software engineering, application development, or technology transformation.
Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively between business and technical teams.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting.

Core Skills

Gathering and analyzing business requirements.
Creating user stories with acceptance criteria.
Documenting process flows and workflows.
Understanding APIs, system integrations, architectures, and data flows.
Proficiency with Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
Stakeholder management and facilitation expertise.
Validating requirements and supporting solution testing.
Experience working with software engineering teams across front-end, back-end, cloud, and integration.

Technology Stack
