Key Operations Manager - Freight

Role overview

An established logistics business in Dubai is seeking a seasoned Key Operations Manager to oversee freight and logistics activities from end to end. The position is focused on freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and import/export handling in a fully onsite setting.

The role offers a salary of AED 10,000 to 15,000 depending on experience. Candidates who can join immediately, or at short notice, are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Run freight and logistics operations across the full shipment lifecycle.
• Stay in regular contact with local and overseas freight agents, shipping lines, and business partners to keep operations moving smoothly.
• Handle day-to-day B2B coordination with clients, suppliers, customs teams, and international forwarders.
• Supervise customs clearance work and make sure activities comply with UAE regulations.
• Prepare and manage paperwork for Free Zone to Mainland movements, Free Zone to Free Zone transfers, and import/export shipments.
• Track and submit customs-related documents through Dubai Trade and UAE Customs platforms.
• Arrange shipments with global courier providers such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, and similar companies.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with freight forwarders in the UAE and abroad.
• Keep shipments on schedule and quickly resolve operational issues when they arise.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or customs brokerage.
• Solid working knowledge of UAE Customs processes, including JAMAREK, and customs brokerage paperwork.
• Practical experience using Dubai Trade.
• Strong command of customs clearance procedures and import/export documentation.
• Good understanding of Free Zone to Mainland and Free Zone to Free Zone documentation requirements.
• Proven network and hands-on experience with international freight forwarders and overseas agents.
• Experience coordinating shipments with major courier services such as DHL, FedEx, and UPS.
• Strong B2B communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capability to juggle multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Prior exposure to JAFZA and/or DAFZA operations is preferred.
• Existing relationships with international freight partners and logistics providers will be an advantage.
