Overview
The Network Engineer Level 1 is tasked with delivering primary support focused on network infrastructure. This role involves monitoring network activities, diagnosing basic connectivity problems, and ensuring reliable operation of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi networks, along with network security appliances. Responsibilities include managing incidents, resolving tickets, and escalating issues to advanced network engineers where necessary.
Core Duties
- Utilize network monitoring tools to oversee network performance and health.
- Troubleshoot initial issues related to LAN/WAN connectivity, wireless access problems, VPN connectivity, and DNS/DHCP services.
- Address alerts and process service requests pertaining to network functionality.
- Set up and maintain fundamental network hardware such as routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Assist with network access user onboarding procedures.
- Document network configurations and maintain records of network assets.
- Refer advanced technical problems to Level 2 and Level 3 network support teams.
- Support implementation of network changes as part of scheduled maintenance or upgrades.
- Participate actively in disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning exercises.
- Comply with IT security protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Fundamental understanding of OSI model and principles of routing and switching.
- Basic knowledge of MPLS networking technology.
- Certification requirements: CCNA and CCNP credentials mandatory.

This role requires availability for 24/7 support operations.
