Network Security Senior Manager

Role overview

This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping and driving the organization’s network security strategy. The role calls for a highly analytical, goal-oriented professional who can oversee complex security environments while defining, strengthening, and enforcing security policies, procedures, and standards.

The selected candidate will guide the creation and rollout of advanced security architectures, performance indicators, and compliance controls. They will coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify network weaknesses, reduce risk exposure, and stay current on new cyber threats and industry developments. In this executive-facing role, they will work closely with stakeholders across the business to align security plans with organizational priorities and improve the overall security stance.

Responsibilities

• Shape, implement, and maintain the organization’s network security policies, standards, and operating procedures.
• Direct the planning and rollout of secure network designs that protect critical systems, assets, and data integrity.
• Partner with IT and operations teams to uncover weaknesses, evaluate risk, and rank remediation work by urgency and impact.
• Build, oversee, and regularly review network security performance measures, including reporting on security posture and compliance results.
• Run ongoing security awareness and training initiatives to reinforce secure behavior across the workforce.
• Serve as the lead responder for network security incidents, coordinating containment, response, and post-incident analysis.
• Work with vendors, external partners, and regulators to support compliance with relevant standards and best practices.
• Track evolving cyber threats and industry trends and translate that knowledge into updated policies and strategy.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of total experience in network security management, with progressively increasing responsibility in security program leadership.
• Demonstrated success handling large-scale network security initiatives and explaining both technical and business consequences of security risks.
• Strong familiarity with security frameworks, compliance requirements, and regulatory obligations, including ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
• Deep experience in threat assessment, vulnerability analysis, and incident response, supported by credentials such as CISSP, CISM, or an equivalent certification.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide, influence, and motivate cross-functional teams toward security goals.
• Solid understanding of risk management, including assessing business impact and recommending suitable mitigation actions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical matters clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
• Working knowledge of tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, VPNs, and data loss prevention solutions.
