Offshore Sampling and Processing Technician - Oil & Gas

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional specialized in analytical chemistry to join our team as an Offshore Sampling and Onsite Analysis Chemist in the oil and gas sector. This role involves collecting and analyzing samples of water, gas, and process streams directly at offshore locations.

Key Duties

• Perform offshore and onsite sampling of water, gas, and industrial process streams.
• Analyze water quality and conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks on results.
• Utilize MicroGC systems to carry out gas composition analyses.
• Adhere strictly to quality, safety, and operational protocols.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and communicate results effectively to clients and all relevant stakeholders.
• Carry out calibration, regular maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical equipment.

Candidate Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field.
• Between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience in laboratory settings, onsite, or offshore analytical roles.
• Practical experience in water analysis methods.
• Proficiency in gas compositional analysis, particularly using MicroGC technology.
• Comprehensive understanding of analytical techniques, quality control processes, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
• Capability to work in offshore conditions and undertake necessary travel.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with strong problem-solving aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior exposure to the oil and gas industry, environmental services, or industrial analytical sectors.
• Possession of offshore certifications and completion of safety training programs are considered beneficial.
