Process Engineer

Overview

Orion Mining Inc is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to join their team in Qatar. This permanent full-time role involves providing expert process engineering support to improve plant efficiency, productivity, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support assigned operations with process engineering solutions including plant revamps.
• Conduct feasibility studies for debottlenecking plant processes and condition control projects.
• Prepare economic evaluations, preliminary cost estimates, and perform essential engineering calculations.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to scope, define, and plan projects.
• Select appropriate work methods aligning with specialized policies and professional standards.
• Lead contractor teams to meet unit objectives while maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and quality standards.
• Update all process documentation such as PIDs, PFDs, material balances, and process data sheets for modifications.
• Develop process data sheets and schemes to justify capital expenditures and costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of seven years relevant experience in process engineering roles.
• Proficient with major process engineering standards and process control practices.
• Practical knowledge in ethylene crackers and Advanced Process Control (APC).
• Familiarity with industry codes and regulatory guides.
• Skilled in process engineering methodologies, simulation software, heat and material balances, and chemical engineering calculations.
• Experienced in downtime analysis and problem-solving tools.
• Project management capabilities.
• Competent in IT tools and management information systems like SAP.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality assurance, health and safety protocols, and maintenance systems.
