Position Overview
The newly created Procurement Operations & Efficiency Manager role is a pivotal leadership position responsible for shaping the operational framework of Bentley’s Strategic Technology Procurement team. The individual will focus on optimizing the medium-tier technology expenditure category, enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring compliance, and maintaining data integrity to support strategic sourcing and category management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and oversee a comprehensive procurement playbook for technology spend ranging between 25,000 and 75,000 in value.
- Act as the primary owner of this significant spend category, ensuring transactions are conducted promptly, accurately, and in compliance with relevant policies.
- Serve as the leading expert on the Vendr procurement platform, driving its effective usage and facilitating a smooth user experience through well-designed workflows and intake processes.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to streamline procurement processes, reduce bottlenecks, and automate repetitive tasks.
- Define and monitor performance indicators, including cycle times, compliance levels, and satisfaction among stakeholders, to enhance procurement operations.
- Ensure high standards of data integrity by setting and enforcing protocols for contract and vendor information within the procurement system.
- Execute routine procurement activities such as renewals, reconciliations, and invoice verifications by following established procedures and templates.
- Provide guidance and act as a trusted advisor to business units and partners to navigate the optimized procurement processes effectively.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- At least seven years of professional experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing functions.
- Proven expertise in managing and improving procurement processes or procurement operations.
- Deep knowledge of the complete procurement-to-pay cycle.
- Ability to handle large transaction volumes with acute attention to detail.
- Familiarity with procurement software such as Vendr, ERP systems, or other P2P platforms is preferred.
- Strong collaborative skills with experience working cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and IT teams.
