Project Manager - Water Infrastructure

About the Role

This position is for a Project Manager experienced in overseeing water infrastructure projects, particularly in the Washington DC region. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing heavy civil construction projects involving underground utilities, water, and wastewater infrastructure. This role requires juggling various complex elements including crews, clients, budgets, change orders, and real-time project site issues effectively from project award through to closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage underground utility projects and water infrastructure construction activities.
• Coordinate project schedules, construction crews, and client communications.
• Implement cost control strategies and manage change orders to ensure project delivery within budget.
• Take full ownership of project delivery from inception to final closeout.

Requirements and Skills

• Proven experience in heavy civil construction, particularly with underground utilities and water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of project management processes related to change orders, cost control, and quality delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities and stakeholders effectively.
• Hands-on approach preferred; not a desk-only position as the role requires presence at live project sites.
• Experience working with DC Water projects is highly desirable.
