Position Summary
We are seeking a Shipping Operations Coordinator based in Nairobi to manage import coordination and container operations effectively. This permanent role includes a 3-month probation period and demands a detail-focused and reliable individual who can operate autonomously to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage coordination with shipping lines regarding import shipments.
- Provide customers with updates on vessel estimated time of arrivals and current shipment statuses.
- Handle retrieval of interchange documents from depots post empty container returns.
- Follow up persistently to obtain refunds for container deposits.
- Keep precise records for all container transactions and statuses.
- Oversee and track transportation movements of containers.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or container logistics is advantageous.
- Excellent communication abilities paired with strong follow-up skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in record maintenance.
- Capability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
- Residing in or willing to work in Nairobi.
