About the Team

The backend engineering team constructs the bank’s digital foundation that supports all user experiences. They are accountable for designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring robust, scalable, and secure backend services in production. The team maintains a strategic technology roadmap and guides application teams to adopt best practices, ensuring top-tier system performance, scalability, and availability. Collaboration with all application development units ensures alignment with business and technical needs to enhance system quality and performance.

Role Overview

We are looking for a driven and skillful Backend Engineer to become a key member of our team. You'll work on clusters of backend services and machine learning pipelines, requiring initiative in problem identification and a proactive mindset to solve complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance product features by writing code in Go, focusing on availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency across Digibank's service portfolio.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to explore and create new scalable and high-performance designs and architectures.
• Engage in code and design reviews to uphold superior development standards.
• Participate in service capacity planning, performance analysis, optimization, and tuning efforts.
• Work with product and user experience teams to define requirements and prototype feature specifications.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to build, scale, and investigate back-end systems, including root cause analyses.
• Design, develop, analyze, and resolve issues in large-scale backend systems.
• Gain expertise in full-stack performance tuning and optimization.
• Debug and modify complex production software ensuring stability and reliability.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines with strong foundations in algorithms and data structures.
• Two to five years of software engineering experience working within distributed systems environments.
• Excellent communication skills combined with analytical thinking and proven design capability; able to evaluate system growth and stability critically.
• Proficiency in coding in one or more programming languages including but not limited to C++, C, Java, Scala, Rust, Haskell, OCaml, Erlang, Python, Ruby, PHP, Node.js, or C#. Willingness to develop expertise in Go (Golang).
• Familiarity with our technological ecosystem: Go with Redis, MySQL, Kafka, DynamoDB, and Snowflake; deployed on AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes, leveraging auto-scaling capabilities.
• Experience using GitLab for code management and adherence to Continuous Delivery principles supported by robust release pipeline and quality assurance tools.
