Job Overview
This role invites individuals with a STEM, particularly engineering, background to transition into a Special Agent position. The FBI seeks candidates eager to apply their technical skills while gaining expertise through investigative work addressing major national threats including cyberattacks, terrorism, and fraud.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into possible breaches of federal laws, focusing on cybersecurity and public safety.
- Apply critical thinking, adaptability, and resourcefulness to meet demanding investigative objectives.
- Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement entities.
- Maintain physical fitness to meet law enforcement performance standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Eligibility for a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- Willingness to travel as required by assignment.
- Fulfillment of all FBI employment eligibility standards.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university, preferably in engineering or a related discipline. Official transcripts are required for degree verification.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $93,749 to $133,200 annually. This is adjusted based on base pay, locality, and availability factors.
