Located in the historical town of Maryborough, Queensland, Yaralla Place is a 96-bed aged care facility designed to resemble a comfortable home, with smaller household units featuring communal lounges, dining, and kitchen areas alongside private backyards and gardens. The community is near Queensland's beautiful beaches and Hervey Bay.

Role Overview

As a Support Services Worker, you will be responsible for hospitality-related duties including catering, cleaning, and laundry within the facility. Building strong connections with residents, their families, and care staff is essential to enhancing resident choices and fostering a homely atmosphere aligned with our core values, ultimately improving residents' quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dietary services such as meals and beverages.
• Assist the chef with meal preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and general kitchen tasks.
• Serve meals to residents and manage dining room services.
• Handle comprehensive cleaning duties in resident rooms and throughout the facility.
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately.
• Ensure availability and replenishment of handwashing supplies.
• Support an efficient laundry service including checking and labeling items.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Possess or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Clearance - mandatory.
• Hold valid Australian work rights - mandatory.
• Experience in hospitality or customer service in a dynamic environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated compassion and empathy for residents.
• Familiarity with resident rights and Aged Care Accreditation Standards is advantageous but not compulsory.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage between $27.77 and $29.98 plus 12% superannuation and leave loading.
