Role Description

This role involves ensuring uninterrupted electrical power to critical areas within manufacturing facilities including production, quality control, and utilities. Responsibilities cover managing high/low tension switchboards, transformers, diesel generators, UPS, and power load optimization to maintain operational continuity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain power supply and distribution equipment including HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS, and battery banks.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance regimes, such as thermography and insulation resistance testing, to avoid breakdowns in critical manufacturing and HVAC systems.
• Respond promptly to electrical failures, troubleshoot motors, variable frequency drives, PLC panels, SCADA systems, and control circuits to perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure calibration and compliance of electrical instruments and HVAC-related sensors, maintaining proper documentation aligned with cGMP standards and support regulatory audits.
• Adhere to electrical safety protocols, conduct audits, risk assessments, and uphold systems such as earthing, lightning protection, LOTO, and permit-to-work processes.
• Support utility systems including HVAC, water purification, and compressed air systems ensuring uninterrupted electric supply for critical GMP utilities.
• Monitor energy usage and lead initiatives for power factor correction, LED replacements, demand control, and related cost-saving projects.
• Maintain comprehensive electrical documentation and logs ensuring data integrity and prepare SOPs, checklists, and work instructions compliant with industry standards.
• Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, validation support, and continuous improvement projects like Kaizen, TPM, and Jishu Hozen.
• Coordinate with production, QA, vendors, and contractors, ensuring safety, compliance, and effective maintenance operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, B.Tech, or B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical, API, or OSD manufacturing environments, preferably within highly regulated industries.
