Videographer

About the Role

Gritter Francona seeks a skilled Videographer to produce, film, and edit high-quality video content for educational initiatives at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) National Center for PTSD. This role involves capturing footage of events, interviews, presentations, and supplementary scenes that support the creation of both animated and live-action educational materials.

The Videographer will collaborate closely with project managers, producers, scriptwriters, subject matter experts, visual artists, and government representatives to ensure all videos align with the Center's mission of delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed educational resources. The final products must effectively communicate scientific and clinical information while maintaining a compassionate and hopeful tone, encouraging engagement with treatment by Veterans, survivors, caregivers, healthcare providers, and the wider audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Record task-specific activities such as events, interviews, presentations, and demonstrations to aid video production.
• Utilize professional-grade cameras and audio equipment to capture footage with optimal lighting, framing, composition, and sound quality.
• Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to coordinate filming schedules, locations, and logistics.
• Review project scripts, storyboards, and creative plans to ensure video content supports educational goals.
• Operate and maintain video and sound equipment, lighting rigs, and accessories.
• Edit recorded material by sequencing clips, applying color correction, enhancing audio, adding graphics and captions, and rendering final video products.
• Blend live footage with animations, motion graphics, narration, and other multimedia features for cohesive educational output.
• Adhere to technical, accessibility, branding, and quality standards for all video deliverables.
• Organize and manage video assets, metadata, and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Incorporate feedback during review cycles to make necessary revisions guided by government partners.
• Ensure respectful and trauma-informed representation of individuals and sensitive topics in all filming and finished content.
• Prepare videos for distribution on digital platforms including websites, social media, and presentations.
• Assist with video production for public awareness campaigns such as PTSD Awareness Month and other outreach efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, Broadcasting, Multimedia, or similar fields.
• At least three years of professional experience in videography and video editing that matches the task requirements.
• Proven ability to produce polished, professional video content from initial filming through post-production delivery.
