About the Role
A Dublin-based company is seeking an experienced Web Designer to join their expanding team on a permanent basis. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring both onsite presence and remote collaboration.
Job Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and maintain responsive and user-friendly websites that engage visitors effectively.
- Design intuitive user interfaces and user experiences through wireframes, prototypes, and comprehensive page layouts.
- Implement front-end components using HTML and CSS to bring designs to life.
- Utilize Content Management Systems (such as Umbraco, WordPress, or equivalents) for website content management and updates.
- Work closely with developers and various stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality digital solutions tailored to user and business requirements.
- Incorporate accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO best practices in web projects.
- Continuously enhance website performance and improve user experience based on feedback and analytics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in CSS, including crafting reusable components from scratch.
- Strong command of HTML and principles of responsive web design.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute website projects from initial concept through to deployment.
- Experience working with CMS platforms such as Umbraco, WordPress, or similar.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud products including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Solid UI/UX design capabilities supported by a portfolio showcasing past website design projects.
- Good grasp of accessibility standards, responsive layouts, and cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Additional Desired Skills
- Understanding of WCAG accessibility guidelines.
- Knowledge of SEO strategies and optimization techniques.
- Experience utilizing web analytics to inform user experience improvements.
- Familiarity with development environments such as Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code and front-end development workflows.
