Work Schedule and Environment
- This role follows the Eastern Time Zone schedule, corresponding to a night shift for Philippine-based employees.
- 100% remote position allowing work from any location.
- Candidates must have their own equipment, including a laptop and headset, to ensure smooth onboarding and workflow.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounting Manager to become an integral part of a growing finance division, directly reporting to the Controller. This position combines hands-on accounting duties with leadership responsibilities, overseeing and mentoring a small team. Ideal candidates must excel in a fast-changing, private equity-backed environment, fostering improvements and scalability in finance operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closing processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Generate accurate and timely internal financial reports.
- Analyze financial results and investigate key variances.
- Collaborate with the Controller on management reporting and ad hoc financial analyses.
- Supervise and mentor one to two accounting team members, ensuring quality and growth.
- Set priorities, workflows, and performance targets for the team.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, fixed assets, prepaid expenses and accruals as needed.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Assist with revenue recognition and technical accounting issues.
- Identify and implement process and control improvements.
- Lead accounting integration for acquisitions including chart mapping and post-close activities.
- Act as a key user and optimizer of the Sage Intacct ERP system.
- Support automation and enhancements related to company growth.
- Coordinate external audits and assist with lender, private equity sponsor, and other stakeholder reporting.
- Support internal control maintenance and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- At least seven years of advancing experience in accounting roles.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
- Experience leading or mentoring accounting personnel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP software.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential highly preferred.
- Prior work in a private equity-backed business environment.
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct ERP.
- Familiarity with merger and acquisition accounting or post-acquisition integration.
- Track record of process improvements and establishing scalable accounting controls.
