AMI System Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a specialist to manage and operate Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. The role focuses on maintaining reliable communication, system availability, and data accuracy between field meters and central control systems in a utility environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and administer AMI systems including Head End System (HES), Meter Data Management (MDM), and associated communication networks.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and address AMI-related connectivity and performance issues; escalate complex problems to vendors or higher-level support as necessary.
• Evaluate operational data from AMI systems, produce performance reports, and maintain detailed system logs and incident documentation.
• Collaborate with IT, metering, telecom, and field operations teams to sustain system dependability and manage configuration changes or minor improvements.
• Comply with standards such as ISO, ISMS, BCMS, and cybersecurity guidelines, including internal health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related area.
• At least four years of professional experience in monitoring AMI systems, managing MDM/HES operations, or working within similar utility service environments.
• In-depth understanding of smart metering tech, AMI communication protocols, and network troubleshooting techniques.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with strong documentation and communication capabilities; ability to work effectively in teams.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
