Assistant Accountant

About the Role

This position is vital within Lovisa's Banking team, responsible for preparing store banking reconciliations, Retail Operations reports, and month-end journal entries. The role includes ownership of banking processes across multiple APAC regions. The global banking team comprises five members, offering opportunities to gain insights into international financial practices and manage transactions involving multiple currencies.

Key Duties

• Accurately complete daily banking reconciliations for all stores ensuring timely processing.
• Collaborate with the Loss Prevention team to monitor, investigate and report cash discrepancies, missed banking events, and petty cash irregularities.
• Manage bank statement uploads, reconcile accounts payable payments, and handle monthly reports on gift voucher liabilities.
• Execute various month-end duties including bank reconciliations, adjustments related to till differences, cash-in-transit, and clearing accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts linked to banking and maintain precise financial documentation.
• Generate banking reports and assist during external audit processes.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion software is advantageous but not required.
• Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office tools.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, initiative-taking, and a drive for process improvement within a team environment.
