Our client is a reputable wealth management company with a strong, integrated tax practice that originated from acquiring a large CPA firm, supported by a sister company. They are currently seeking a seasoned Bookkeeper to join their dedicated team remotely.
About the Role
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing the month-to-month accounting engagements for the firm's clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery from start to finish. This position suits an accounting professional who is detail-focused, comfortable juggling multiple deadlines, and highly proficient as a power user in both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
This role offers a clear advancement opportunity toward a Staff Accountant role, ideal for bookkeepers eager to broaden their accounting skills and engage in tax-related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 15 to 20 monthly bookkeeping clients at full capacity.
- Handle all aspects of client engagements each month independently.
- Conduct full-cycle bookkeeping including transaction classification, bank and credit card reconciliations, and maintaining general ledgers.
- Compile and finalize monthly financial reports accurately.
- Review and verify all work for correct account classifications and reporting compliance.
- Engage with clients to request documents and clarify transactions, initially with limited direct client interaction but with potential for expanded client communication over time.
- Organize and maintain financial records adhering to firm standards and accounting best practices.
- Employ extensive use of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online at expert levels.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting setting; candidates with 8 to 10+ years are highly encouraged.
- Comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping processes including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced expertise in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills capable of handling multiple client deadlines.
- Ability to independently assume responsibilities with minimal training, while benefiting from ongoing team mentorship.
- Must be located in Eastern or Central time zones.
