About the role
Buzz Solutions is hiring an experienced Controller to take charge of accounting and finance operations. This position will partner with senior leadership to improve business performance through accurate reporting, disciplined controls, and strong financial management.
Key responsibilities
- Handle the organization’s daily accounting activities, including the general ledger and fixed assets.
- Lead both month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Create, document, and refine finance policies, procedures, and operating standards.
- Own the complete accounts payable workflow, covering vendor setup, W-9/1099 preparation, purchase order and invoice matching, GL coding, approval routing, payment processing, and vendor queries/reconciliations.
- Reconcile AR and AP subledgers to the general ledger each period and maintain accrual and allowance balances, including the allowance for credit losses.
- Develop and sustain strong internal controls to support audits and due diligence.
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and monthly management reporting with variance analysis versus budget and the prior period.
- Oversee tax filings, sales tax compliance, and multi-state nexus matters.
- Spot compliance risks early and put corrective actions in place.
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and short-term cash forecasts.
- Estimate working capital requirements and align funding and disbursements with cash availability.
- Recommend improvements that enhance financial performance and support better use of resources.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in public accounting audit work, ideally with technology or SaaS clients.
- Demonstrated ownership of the end-to-end accounting cycle and close process.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal finance tools.
- Comfort with SaaS metrics such as ARR, ACV, CAC, and burn rate.
- Experience supporting fundraising activities and investor reporting.
Compensation and benefits
The anticipated salary range is $120,000 to $140,000 per year. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) contributions, unlimited paid time off, and short-term/long-term disability coverage.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the United States. The role is focused on accounting leadership, internal controls, tax and compliance oversight, and financial reporting for a growing business.
