Position Summary

Shared Health is seeking a dedicated Crisis Worker to join the Crisis Response Centre team in Winnipeg. The role involves providing essential supportive services to adults experiencing mental health or psychosocial crises. Operating under clinical supervision, the incumbent will contribute to client care, maintain safety and order at the facility, and assist in various related duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain crucial working relationships with clients, families, and clinical teams.
  • Provide ongoing client and family support, including monitoring of client well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interventions and client progress.
  • Ensure upkeep and maintenance of the Crisis Response Centre premises.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the Centre's operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least two years of para-professional experience supporting adults with mental illness is required.
  • Understanding and application of recovery-oriented principles and trauma-informed care.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Act, and Child & Family Services Act.

Education and Certifications

  • Completion of high school education meeting Manitoba Standards is required.
  • A diploma in Social Services or related health disciplines from a recognized community college is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Possession or willingness to obtain Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, and Safe Food Handling certifications.
  • Proficiency in computers, including Internet navigation and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, EMR).
  • Addiction-related training is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency (French/English) is preferable due to the Centre's service mandate.

Additional Requirements and Skills

  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license is mandatory.
