Customer Delivery Driver - Sandhurst

About the Role

As the visible representative of Tesco on the road, the Customer Delivery Driver visits customers at their homes daily. This position goes beyond just driving; it focuses on assisting customers and delivering outstanding service with a friendly attitude. The work involves physical tasks and variety, ensuring no two shifts are the same. Drivers work mostly independently throughout their shifts but have the support of managers and colleagues at the store base when needed.

Work Schedule

• Sunday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery van, trays, and work area to ensure deliveries are in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and perform checks to confirm it's roadworthy and reliable before beginning deliveries.
• Communicate with customers about any substitutions, order changes, or short-dated products in a friendly, reassuring manner, offering refunds when necessary to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating each order as if it were your own to preserve quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within assigned time slots, providing warm and natural service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued and cared for.

Requirements

• Ability to foster strong relationships with colleagues to build team spirit and provide excellent customer service.
• Be personable and welcoming to both customers and coworkers.
• Adapt quickly to evolving customer needs and be open to change during shifts on the road and at the store.
• Possession of a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
