Data Analyst - Data Management and Analytics (Data Ops)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst with 5 to 9 years of expertise, particularly skilled in data management, analytics, and operational data functions. The ideal candidate will excel in decision-making, analytical thinking, and solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, and Spark to support data analytics tasks.
• Employ query languages including HQL and SQL (including Spark SQL) for thorough data exploration.
• Perform data mapping activities to join diverse data sets from multiple sources effectively.
• Maintain documentation covering data mapping, subsystem and technical design, as well as business requirements documentation.
• Analyze logical to physical data mappings and data processing flows to ensure data consistency.
• Collaborate with data modeling and asset generation teams to design and build reusable data assets by identifying critical data elements and their mappings.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of ER diagrams and data modeling concepts.
• Conduct data quality validation, data cleaning, preparation, and schema analysis activities.
• Work within an Agile framework to deliver timely, high-quality results.
• Utilize SQL, PySpark, and Python within the Wholesale Banking, Credit, and Lending domains.
• Apply knowledge of credit risk frameworks such as Basel II, Basel III, IFRS 9, and stress testing, including an understanding of their risk drivers, which is considered advantageous.
• Applicants familiar with retail credit or traded credit areas are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• BFSI domain expertise.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Qlik Sense.
• Familiarity with ETL processes along with Hadoop and Hive platforms.
• Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Relevant industry certifications are a bonus.
