Role Purpose

As a Data Analyst within the Data and Innovation team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing a data-driven culture. Your contributions will translate complex data into actionable intelligence that informs product improvement, customer engagement, and operational efficiencies. Reporting to the Data Analytics and Insights Manager, you'll lead in generating data stories that influence product direction by interpreting customer behaviours and market developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract and analyze data from data lakes and other sources to generate actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
• Create, maintain, and automate business intelligence and management information reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Drive reporting automation using SQL, Python, Power BI, and related tools to streamline analytics processes.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders from product, commercial, technology, customer service, and operations to meet data requirements and foster a data-centric culture.
• Lead or support KPI development and data insight tracking across the organisation, using consistent metrics for decision-making.
• Utilise analytics platforms such as SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, Usabilla, Google Analytics, Optimizely, ContentSquare, and Hotjar to conduct in-depth analysis and generate insightful reports.
• Apply data science methods—statistical modelling, segmentation, time series, predictive modelling—to understand customer behavior and forecast business impacts.
• Leverage AI and machine learning systems as a power user to enhance analytics capability and efficiency.
• Perform comprehensive cross-channel data analysis alongside subject matter experts.
• Mentor team members by sharing best practices and advanced analytic techniques.
• Ensure all data handling complies with privacy laws and internal policies, maintaining data governance and security.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to embed data insights into business processes, improving strategic outcomes.
• Commit to ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of data analytics tools and methodologies.
• Monitor and report on performance metrics relevant to responsibilities, contributing to team success.
• Innovate continuously, seeking opportunities to improve analytics capabilities and operational processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven analytics experience, preferably in commercial or digital product/service environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Streamlit/Python, Google Data Studio/Looker, GA4 Reports), and dashboard/report development.
• Experienced user of Google Marketing Cloud tools, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
• Solid understanding of statistical principles and experience with data modelling and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with data science techniques like statistical modelling, segmentation, time series analysis, and predictive modelling.
• Advanced user of AI/ML platforms to elevate analytical capabilities.
• Effective communicator with the ability to convey complex data insights clearly.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and collaborative working.
• Proactive, personable, and able to cultivate strong working relationships across teams.
• Exceptional problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines successfully.
• Familiarity with KPIs and metrics used to measure business success.
• Experience contributing to data-driven projects.
• Desirable: Interest or experience in investment sectors, knowledge of financial products and markets, proficiency in Python or other programming languages for analytics, experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization, familiarity with machine learning applications, and use of project management tools like Jira or Confluence.

Work Arrangement

This role is hybrid, requiring presence three days per week at either Manchester or Leeds office locations, with remote work permitted the remaining two days.
