Role Overview
The Payments domain within Salmon is rapidly expanding across debit, credit, and cross-border transactions. As a Data Analyst, you will spearhead the analytics efforts crucial to maintaining stable delivery and enabling data-driven decisions that impact millions of users.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and verify tracking requirements related to mobile app interfaces and transaction feeds.
- Support analytics efforts for new initiatives such as the Daily Banking launch and perform comprehensive, on-demand analyses.
- Manage mobile analytics end-to-end, including gathering requirements, monitoring metrics, conducting funnel and drop-off analyses, research, and documentation.
- Handle Transaction Feed analytics for the Salmon App, covering merchant name standardization, transaction categorization, and icon mapping logic.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools for payments products covering debit, credit, and cross-border transactions.
- Track key payment metrics to discern trends, detect gaps, and identify opportunities to enhance performance.
- Assist in forecasting and financial reporting related to credit products and bill payment processes.
- Deliver clear, persuasive presentations to stakeholders that translate analytical insights into actionable decisions.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in data analytics, ideally within fintech or payment sectors.
- Proficient in SQL and experienced with business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Looker, or Metabase.
- Knowledgeable about analytics instrumentation and event-based data architectures for mobile and web applications.
- Experience analyzing mobile analytics, including funnel conversion, user drop-offs, and behavior patterns.
- Understanding of transaction data processing, including payment flows, categorization, and data quality challenges.
- Capability to translate complex business questions into structured analytical methods leading to practical insights.
- Additional advantageous skills include familiarity with product analytics tools like Amplitude, experience in forecasting or financial reporting, and exposure to fast-paced startup or rapidly growing product environments.
