Role Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is responsible for planning, designing, delivering, and operating AWS's global infrastructure to ensure seamless cloud services for customers worldwide. Our team maintains data centers, managing servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems to deliver reliable innovation. We seek skilled professionals ready to tackle complex operational challenges with many variables affecting our supply chain.

You will become part of a diverse group encompassing software, hardware, networking engineers, supply chain experts, security specialists, and operations managers. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote top-tier safety standards within the data center facilities, leading safety initiatives and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve safety risks.
- Operate and service electrical and mechanical infrastructure components, such as UPS systems, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS units, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC systems, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and facility issues promptly within internal service level agreements.
- Investigate root causes of equipment failures to prevent recurrence and improve system reliability.
- Identify and implement innovations to optimize facility operations and reduce expenses.
- Conduct daily readings of mechanical and electrical systems, collecting data on temperatures, voltages, and currents.
- Supervise maintenance contractors to ensure compliance with servicing and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Participate in rotational shift patterns, including 4-day cycles of 12-hour shifts covering day and night shifts, plus 4 days off; respond to emergency calls during on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform physical tasks such as moving materials compliant with safety regulations, working in varied weather conditions, high noise environments, and at elevated heights or using ladders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related technical disciplines.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, specifically HVAC and control systems.
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical principles and components.
- Experience in managing critical facility operations, with expertise in electrical, mechanical, and control system management.
- Preferred: Experience specifically in data center engineering and familiarity with BMS and EPMS control systems including data collection and trending.
