Design & Coordination Engineer

About the Role

The Design & Coordination Engineer will be responsible for managing the coordination of design drawings in collaboration with consultants to ensure compliance with authority requirements. This role involves reviewing technical challenges, planning and tracking the progress of shop drawing production, and preparing technical submissions for materials, construction approaches, and civil and structural shop drawings. The engineer will also resolve construction-related design issues, working in close communication with Architectural and Mechanical & Electrical teams and regulatory bodies. Additionally, supervising a team of BIM Modelers to produce coordinated shop drawings and Concrete Body Plans forms a key part of this job.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate design drawings with consultants to ensure compliance with relevant authorities
• Analyze technical problems and devise solutions, while managing and reporting shop drawing progress
• Prepare technical submissions covering materials, construction methods, and C&S shop drawings
• Address and resolve construction issues related to drawings in collaboration with Architectural, M&E teams, and authorities
• Lead and supervise BIM Modelers for accurate production of coordinated shop drawings and concrete body plans

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Relevant design experience within contractor environments
• Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers Board, Singapore
• Minimum of three years working experience in a related role
• Familiarity with British and Singapore Design Standards
• Self-driven, analytical thinker with strong motivation, teamwork skills, and interpersonal abilities
