Role Overview
The Design Manager will be responsible for developing and coordinating architectural design projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and project requirements while collaborating closely with consultants and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare layout test fits to support project feasibility studies.
- Coordinate with project consultants to confirm layouts meet authority regulations.
- Transform management’s concepts into schematic designs suitable for further development into statutory and working drawings.
- Create 2D and 3D illustrations or computer graphics to communicate design concepts to stakeholders.
- Support the project manager by preparing architectural and interior design tender drawings and specifications when consultants are unavailable.
- Collaborate with project managers and consultants, including Architects, Civil & Structural, Mechanical & Electrical, and Interior Design experts, to review contractor proposals and verify compliance with design and specification requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections alongside project managers to ensure execution aligns with contract standards.
- Advise project managers on design-related project matters.
- Develop design guidelines and spearhead initiatives to standardize design processes for improved efficiency in time, budget, and quality.
- Perform other design-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Architectural Studies or Interior Design with 3 to 5 years’ relevant work experience in Singapore's industry.
- Experience as a design professional within real estate or developer companies is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of current statutory codes and regulations.
- Solid knowledge of architectural details, working drawings, and construction practices.
- Preferred familiarity with Structural and Mechanical & Electrical domains.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Revit, and/or other 3D rendering tools.
- Knowledge of BIM technology is a plus.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
