Engineer, Projects (Projects Department - P-GO-2-1)

Overview

This role involves supporting and executing engineering activities throughout the complete project lifecycle, from concept development to final handover. It includes phases such as FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning, all while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, cost, and Value Assurance Process (VAP) standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in all stages of project delivery, from the initial concept through commissioning and transfer.
• Contribute to preparing Statements of Requirements and project execution plans.
• Support preparation and evaluation of tender documents for engineering consultants and contractors.
• Review contractor deliverables and construction approaches to validate scope and specification compliance.
• Track engineering, procurement, and construction progress while detecting potential obstacles and suggesting corrective measures.
• Engage in value engineering, constructability assessments, and project workshops.
• Collaborate with licensors, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project alignment.
• Attend project meetings and technical reviews to support coordination.
• Help monitor contractor performance, invoicing, and project budgeting alongside cost management teams.
• Assist in evaluating contractor claims and aid in negotiation and contract closure processes.
• Track project changes, risks, and trends affecting costs and timelines.
• Facilitate risk assessments, PHSER (Process Hazard Safety and Environmental Review), and ATR (Approval to Release) reviews per ADNOC guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards across all project operations.
• Support Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements during engineering and execution phases.
• Maintain thorough project documentation, including records and close-out files.
• Help generate progress status reports for management review.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts with contractors and operations stakeholders.
• Review commissioning plans, procedures, and readiness documentation.
• Monitor closure of punch lists, ensuring completion of construction and commissioning deliverables.
• Facilitate smooth handover of completed project facilities to Operations and assist in start-up activities.

Candidate Profile and Eligibility

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Have a minimum of 6 years of experience in project engineering within the oil and gas sector.
• Demonstrate strong competency in coordinating multi-disciplinary project execution.
• Exhibit effective monitoring and management of contractor deliverables and performance.
• Proactively identify engineering and execution-related risks and challenges.
• Ensure technical compliance and uphold quality assurance standards.
• Work collaboratively with project, engineering, and operations teams to achieve seamless delivery.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of the project portfolio, engineering scope, and contractor interactions.
• Support on-time delivery of engineering project activities across assigned assignments.
• Enhance coordination between engineering, procurement, and execution functions.
• Contribute to minimizing project delays through early problem identification and resolution.
• Guarantee accurate project reporting, documentation, and adherence to ADNOC project requirements.
