About the Role
As an Experiential Events Manager at Pogo, you will spearhead conferences, dinners, and in-person events, serving as key drivers for business growth. You will oversee a large number of events throughout the year, managing all aspects from logistics and project coordination through to assessing which events are worthwhile to repeat. You'll be responsible for creating unique, memorable activations that showcase Pogo's in-person presence creatively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end logistics for conference and event initiatives including venues, vendors, travel arrangements, materials, staffing, and follow-up activities.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with event hosts, venues, and collaborators.
- Analyze return on investment for every event to determine which ones merit repetition and how to enhance outcomes next time.
- Ensure Pogo presents itself impeccably at every live interaction point, from event setups and dinner menus to swag items.
- Design original experiential marketing activities that grab attention among insights and research professionals, making Pogo stand out beyond traditional booths.
- Travel up to twice monthly to support high-priority events on location.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales and marketing teams to maximize event conversion rates.
- Execute guerrilla marketing tactics to gain visibility at critical events.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 3 to 7 years' experience in conference servicing, field marketing, experiential event management within tech companies or creative agencies.
- Strong operational and multitasking abilities to manage numerous events with complex logistics simultaneously.
- Skilled relationship builder, especially with event organizers and venue partners, to secure prime opportunities.
- Highly creative with excellent aesthetic sensibility across elements such as booths, dinners, swag, and follow-ups.
- Disciplined with budget assessment, deciding critically on event viability and cutting ineffective initiatives.
- Self-directed, able to independently identify promising conferences and vendors without supervision.
- Willingness to travel primarily within the United States up to two times per month.
- Familiarity and active use of AI tools to streamline workflows.
- Bonus skills: creativity in guerrilla marketing, consumer insights knowledge, and extensive travel experience.
Why This Role Is Exciting
- Take ownership of a vital growth channel involving live events central to Pogo’s market presence.
- Focus on quality over quantity by curating meaningful, tailored experiences that foster strong business relationships.
- Have a measurable impact on revenue through close cooperation with sales and leadership to align events with pipeline and partnerships.
- Influence foundational marketing strategies, vendor relations, and operational standards during early-stage scaling.
- Engage regularly in dynamic, face-to-face environments, traveling and creating memorable event experiences.
Challenges To Consider
- This role prioritizes clear business value and pipeline development over traditional brand marketing or superficial event polish.
- It demands hands-on management of all event details, requiring significant operational intensity and problem-solving on-site.
- Expect minimal structured support and rapidly evolving processes demanding strong autonomy and adaptability.
- Frequent travel and juggling multiple priorities simultaneously are inherent to this role.
- Work hours may exceed typical office times, with flexibility encouraged alongside a strong commitment to personal wellness via unlimited PTO and minimum vacation days policies.
