Facilities & Building Manager

Overview

Celtic Bank is seeking a Facilities & Building Manager to oversee the daily operations of its Salt Lake City headquarters. This role focuses on ensuring a safe, efficient, secure, and welcoming environment for employees, customers, and visitors. The manager will lead building operations, preventive maintenance, capital projects, physical security coordination, and vendor management while maintaining compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational management and upkeep of the bank's headquarters to maintain high standards of functionality and appearance.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, fire protection, and life safety.
• Set facility performance benchmarks, create operational protocols, and establish service expectations across all locations.
• Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify and resolve facility issues, safety concerns, and operational risks.
• Ensure smooth, uninterrupted facility operations to support continuous banking services.
• Negotiate and oversee contracts for external service providers including maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, and security vendors.
• Evaluate vendor performance ensuring adherence to service agreements and institutional standards.
• Implement cost-reduction strategies while preserving quality and operational efficiency.
• Approve invoices and monitor budgets for facility-related expenditures.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, local building codes, ADA, fire safety, and banking security protocols.
• Collaborate with security and risk teams to manage physical security systems, access control, alarms, and emergency preparedness.
• Lead workplace safety programs, promptly executing corrective measures where needed.
• Keep detailed records of inspections, audits, permits, and maintenance activities.
• Work collaboratively with branch and department leaders to address facility priorities and support organizational goals.
• Foster a culture emphasizing accountability, responsiveness, professionalism, and outstanding service.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred but not mandatory.
• Proven experience in facilities or property management, especially within financial institutions, corporate office settings, or regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building systems, operations, maintenance, and safety regulations.
• Experience in leadership and project management roles.
• Financial expertise related to budgeting and expense management.
• Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and vendor relations.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facilities management software tools.
• Preferred certifications include Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), OSHA, or other workplace safety credentials.
• Understanding of banking security measures and business continuity planning is advantageous.

Physical Demands:

Work Model: This is a fully onsite position requiring presence at the Salt Lake City office.
