Role Summary
The Financial Analyst will be an integral team member, reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for delivering data-driven insights that support strategic growth for the investment portfolio. The position involves financial modeling, due diligence, deal sourcing, and portfolio management activities. The analyst will focus on enhancing operating models, interpreting key business metrics, and supporting board and investor communications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze financial results, forecasts, and trends to enhance portfolio financial performance.
- Conduct financial forecasting, detailed reporting, and track operational KPIs.
- Compare actual results to plans and forecasts and assess financial performance.
- Contribute to process improvements to optimize forecasting and reporting methods.
- Prepare financial reports for leadership reviews.
- Review historical outcomes, identify variances and trends, and propose improvements.
- Create and maintain standard and ad-hoc financial reports, tools, and dashboards.
- Collaborate closely with partners to evaluate acquisition and strategic investment prospects.
- Participate in investment decision-making processes with key stakeholders.
- Perform detailed financial analysis, valuation, and modeling for transactions and companies.
- Lead and coordinate the transaction process from diligence through to closing, assisting deal sponsors.
- Support thorough due diligence covering financial, market, legal, and operational aspects of potential acquisitions.
- Assist with the oversight and management of portfolio companies.
- Provide strategic and operational guidance to portfolio leadership teams, leveraging finance and strategy expertise.
- Help implement post-acquisition integration and performance enhancement initiatives.
- Assist in negotiating and structuring agreements with debt providers.
- Support liquidity and exit strategy planning with investment professionals and advisors.
- Maintain strong client and advisor relationships.
- Perform in-depth research on companies, industries, and market trends.
- Create investment presentation materials and pitch decks for prospective deals.
- Draft investment memorandums when needed.
- Enhance firm-wide reporting processes and analytics capabilities.
- Complete ad-hoc projects, reporting, and analytic requests from management and investors.
Qualifications
- Experience in investment banking (M&A, Corporate Finance), private equity, or finance/business operations within a high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated ability to derive actionable business value from analytical work.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required; MBA preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
