About the Role
Doman Building Materials Group, operating under NorthWest Wood Treaters LP as Doman Treating, is seeking a dedicated General Labourer for their Prince George, BC facility. This permanent full-time position involves supporting plant operations by managing lumber through wrapping, banding, labeling, and counting using various equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate lumber handling machinery including wood stacking equipment.
- Apply barcodes onto lumber products for identification.
- Wrap and band lumber securely for storage and shipment.
- Occasionally perform manual piling of wood.
- Maintain and service production machines as needed.
- Keep the yard clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Follow all workplace safety policies and protocols strictly.
- Deliver customer service commitments diligently.
Qualifications and Skills
- Keen attention to detail with the ability to count and identify various types of lumber.
- Prior experience in lumber mills or lumber yards is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must own steel-toed boots suitable for the work environment.
- Physical capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds (approximately 23 kilograms), and perform repeated bending, lifting, and reaching during shifts.
- Proficient in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
- Forklift certification is considered an advantage.
- Level Three First Aid certification is an additional asset.
Education
Completion of high school is preferred. Background knowledge in Forestry or Wood Processing is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage of $22.33 as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Employment Details
- Permanent full-time position within a unionized workplace.
- Working hours are scheduled Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, subject to change based on operational needs.
- Work location is 10553 Willow Cale Forest Rd, Prince George, BC V2N 4T6.
- Candidates must provide their own reliable transportation as the site is not accessible via public transit.
- Applicants must have legal entitlement to work in Canada without need for sponsorship.
