Role Overview

We are seeking a resourceful and entrepreneurial contractor to spearhead a range of high-priority, strategic initiatives that do not align specifically with any single department. This part-time position requires 15 to 25 hours per week, with a preference for candidates located in the Bay Area, although the role is fully remote.

This role suits an individual who excels at transforming vague concepts into concrete results, coordinating efforts across teams, and advancing projects with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage special projects from ideation to execution, engaging cross-functional teams as necessary.
• Investigate new business opportunities, funding options, partnerships, and emerging market trends applicable to the company's objectives.
• Support innovation efforts by identifying suitable partners, preparing communication materials, and overseeing pilot programs.
• Ensure smooth execution of strategic initiatives by meeting milestones and proactively addressing obstacles.
• Develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to leadership.
• Conduct comprehensive market, competitive, and business research to guide decision-making.
• Handle urgent, high-impact tasks as they arise within the organization.

• Exceptionally well-organized and focused on effective execution.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and solving complex, unstructured problems.
• Capable of independently managing projects with limited guidance.
• Possesses strong analytical abilities and structured problem-solving skills.
• Communicates clearly and convincingly with both internal colleagues and external partners.
• Quick learner who adapts to multiple roles as needed.
• Background experience in startups, consulting, venture capital, strategy, operations, or project management is advantageous but not mandatory.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with education technology, artificial intelligence, or consumer technology sectors.
• Experience assisting in grant or funding proposal processes.
• Knowledge of productivity and project management platforms such as Notion, Google Workspace, and Airtable.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

Success Indicators

Within the initial months, the successful candidate will independently advance multiple strategic projects, streamline the execution of innovation pilots, enhance transparency on project status, and free leadership resources by owning critical operational tasks.

Compensation
