About the Role
Our client is a leading financial institution with extensive operations across North America, covering a wide array of sectors such as institutional and corporate banking, wealth management, private clients, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking. They are seeking a proficient IT Data Analytics professional to fill a contract position based in Markham, ON with hybrid work arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyze, design, and provide technical data management solutions for projects of varying scope and complexity.
- Perform data quality validation on raw and processed datasets using Oracle and Azure platforms.
- Engage in customer segmentation, initiate threshold settings, and monitor model performance continuously.
- Maintain rigorous documentation to support scenario review processes compliant with audit, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough quality control on monitoring solutions, identify deficiencies, and support the implementation of future enhancements.
- Collaborate with business units to identify improvement opportunities and deliver data-driven insights to influence business strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science is mandatory.
- Minimum of five years’ professional experience with analytics tools such as SAS, Informatica, Tableau, among others.
- Expert proficiency in Python programming and SQL database management.
- Advanced skills in query optimization, debugging, and automation techniques.
- Experience working with and analyzing large datasets using appropriate data exploration methods.
- Ability to apply statistical methodologies and data mining techniques to resolve complex business challenges.
- Strong understanding and track record of working on data-centric projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage cross-functional teams and articulate complex data insights.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive and contribute as a team player within large collaborative settings.
- Capability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) principles and practices.
Additional Information
- Contract length is for six months with possibilities for extension or permanent conversion.
- Compensation starts at $92 per hour.
- Work schedule follows core business hours, Monday through Friday.
- Background screening, which may include criminal, credit, or other verification checks, is mandatory as part of the onboarding process.
