About the Role
As a Junior Associate at Actum's New York office, you will engage in supporting daily client projects and contribute to a variety of policy, communications, and political efforts. This opportunity provides invaluable exposure to one of the world’s fastest-growing global consulting firms, enabling you to develop expertise by working alongside distinguished industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor legislative and regulatory activities at city, state, and federal levels for pertinent topics.
- Create policy briefs, background memorandums, and legislative target lists.
- Assist in preparing briefing books, documentation, and materials for client interactions including meetings, interviews, and events.
- Attend hearings, webinars, and coalition meetings, delivering summaries and insights.
- Support advocacy campaigns, identifying relevant issues aligned with client interests.
- Track media coverage and generate daily news compilations and reports.
- Develop media contact lists and assist with drafting press materials such as releases, advisories, fact sheets, and press kits.
- Support media relations by preparing pitches and researching media contacts including reporters, producers, and podcast hosts.
- Assist in writing op-eds, letters to editors, and submissions for awards and speaking opportunities.
- Prepare presentations and slide decks for internal and client meetings.
- Contribute to digital and social media initiatives by drafting content and building influencer outreach lists.
- Perform stakeholder research to pinpoint third-party validators, funders, and partner entities.
- Aid in organizing and executing events.
- Conduct background research for clients and actively participate in brainstorming and pitch development sessions.

Additional Information
- The candidate must reside in the New York City metropolitan area.
- This is a part-time (25-30 hours/week) or full-time (35 hours/week) temporary internship from August to December, with potential for extension.
- The role requires on-site presence; remote work is not supported.

- Compensation is $17 per hour.
