Junior Cloud Engineer (Entry-Level/Associate)

Overview

Visionarius is seeking a motivated Junior Cloud Engineer to join our Kansas City, MO team in a full-time, onsite role. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to develop their cloud computing skills by assisting in the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructures. The successful candidate will work closely with seasoned professionals to ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Monitor cloud systems for optimal availability, security, and performance.
• Contribute to cloud migration and optimization efforts.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to infrastructure, networking, and applications.
• Support provisioning and configuration management of cloud resources.
• Apply security best practices and support compliance adherence.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and IT teams to advance cloud initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation covering procedures and system configurations.
• Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• Keep abreast of emerging cloud technologies and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Up to 2 years of experience relevant to cloud computing, IT infrastructure, or system administration.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewall configurations.
• Fundamental grasp of virtualization and cloud computing concepts.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms through internships, projects, or certifications.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Basic scripting abilities in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or Google Associate Cloud Engineer are advantageous.
