About the Role
We’re seeking an early-career, highly detail-focused Junior Data Analyst to join a growing team in Australia. This position is well suited to recent graduates or professionals at the start of their careers who enjoy working with data and converting raw information into useful business insights.
You will contribute to data gathering, reporting, dashboard development, and broader business analysis work, partnering with different teams to support decisions backed by data.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather data from different sources, clean it, and check it for accuracy.
- Study datasets to spot trends, patterns, and meaningful business takeaways.
- Create recurring reports, dashboards, and visual presentations for stakeholders.
- Help maintain databases while protecting data quality and consistency.
- Handle occasional data analysis requests from internal business teams.
- Build and track key performance indicators.
- Work with stakeholders to clarify reporting needs and expectations.
- Look for ways to improve processes through better use of data.
- Record data sources, analysis methods, and reporting steps.
- Support senior analysts with analytics projects and business intelligence tasks.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or a similar discipline.
- Working understanding of SQL for data querying and handling.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and analysis features.
- Exposure to data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio is beneficial.
- Basic experience with Python or R is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work on your own as well as collaborate with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience, academic coursework, or a practical project involving data analysis.
- Familiarity with databases, data warehousing, or business intelligence concepts.
- Experience producing reports and dashboards.
- A portfolio, GitHub profile, or project examples that show analytical capability.
- Understanding of statistics and data modeling is an advantage.
