Role overview

SGS is seeking a practical and motivated Laboratory Assistant for its Perth Airport site. The position involves hands-on support in geochemical testing within a busy, team-oriented laboratory environment.

Key duties

• Prepare geochemical samples for XRF chemistry analysis.
• Check that samples are in the correct condition, quantity, and quality before testing.
• Keep pace with daily output targets in a structured production setting.
• Carry out tasks in the proper sequence and follow established procedures closely.
• Help maintain quality control and reduce the risk of sample contamination.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant is dependable, careful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving laboratory team. Accuracy, a strong quality mindset, and the ability to follow step-by-step processes are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

A Certificate III in Laboratory Skills is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should be able to contribute effectively in a production-focused team, follow instructions accurately, work in numerical order, and maintain strong attention to detail.
