Role Summary

The Laboratory Technician will work on-site in Portmore, Saint Catherine, in a full-time capacity. This position supports healthcare delivery by handling lab equipment, carrying out diagnostic testing, checking results against quality standards, and recording findings accurately while maintaining efficient and safe lab operations.

Key Responsibilities

The role centers on routine laboratory operations, test execution, quality assurance, and reliable documentation of diagnostic outcomes. The technician is expected to help keep the lab functioning smoothly, safely, and in line with required standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate and care for laboratory instruments and equipment
• Hands-on knowledge of laboratory processes, including sample handling and testing
• Experience with quality control methods to support accurate and compliant results
• Strong analytical ability to review, interpret, and document findings
• Familiarity with accepted laboratory procedures and technician protocols
• Comfort working with others in a busy healthcare setting
• High attention to detail and a strong focus on safety
• Relevant certification or academic training in laboratory science or a related discipline
• Previous exposure to a medical or diagnostic lab environment is beneficial
