Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Librarian to be based in Kottayam. The successful candidate will manage daily library functions including cataloging, organizing, and preserving both physical and digital collections. Providing assistance to students and staff in resource availability and information literacy forms a significant part of the role. The Librarian will maintain an inviting, orderly environment, collaborate with educators to synchronize library content with academic curricula, conduct orientation or training sessions on resource usage, and ensure adherence to library regulations. Regular inventory management, overseeing book circulation, and promoting reading and research habits among students are also key responsibilities.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Sound expertise in Library Science and Library Management, capable of handling library operations efficiently.
• Experience in library services and instructing users on accessing informational materials.
• In-depth knowledge of Metadata and cataloging standards for organizing collections.
• Possession of an academic degree in Library Science or Information Science from a recognized university.
• Skilled in library management software and fundamental computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management capabilities.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to engage constructively with faculty and students.
