Role Overview

The Linguistic Editor will be entrusted with the accurate translation and meticulous linguistic editing of legal and official documents spanning Arabic and English. This role encompasses translating, reviewing, proofreading, and refining diverse legal materials such as studies, annual reports, presidential decisions, official correspondence, strategic documents, and periodicals. The candidate will ensure that translations preserve the legal essence and intent of original texts, adhere strictly to legal terms, and conform to organizational style standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Precisely translate a variety of legal documents including studies, reports, official decisions, and correspondences between Arabic and English, maintaining legal accuracy and terminology.
• Conduct thorough reviews and proofreading of all translations to confirm linguistic correctness, consistency, and equivalency in both languages.
• Edit legal materials including official letters and reports to enhance clarity, coherence, and compliance with legal standards.
• Maintain uniformity in the use of legal phrases and terminology across all translations and edits to protect original content integrity.
• Adhere to established legal translation style guides and best practices to ensure professional consistency.
• Collaborate with legal professionals such as lawyers and advisors to comprehend context and validate the precision of translations.
• Support translation and editorial efforts for periodic publications, strategic documents, and reports, guaranteeing content alignment between Arabic and English versions.
• Effectively manage tight deadlines while preserving the quality and accuracy of all deliverables, demonstrating high performance under pressure.

Qualifications & Expertise

• A Bachelor's degree in Translation, Arabic Language, English Language, Linguistics, Law, or related disciplines.
• Seven to ten years of experience specializing in Arabic-English legal translation and linguistic editing.
• Familiarity with regulatory bodies, government agencies, judicial systems, or legal workplaces is greatly advantageous.
• Documented expertise in translating and editing a wide range of legal documents including official correspondence, policies, regulations, reports, and strategic materials.
• Exceptional command of written Arabic and English languages.
• Deep understanding of legal terminology and drafting frameworks in both languages.
• Strong skills in proofreading, editing, and ensuring linguistic quality.
• Knowledgeable about legal translation methods and industry best practices.
