Maintenance Engineer

Role Overview

A food processing employer in West Cork is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join its modern automated site. This is a permanent, full-time position in a fast-moving production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the creation and rollout of preventative maintenance schedules and related manufacturing workflows.
• Work with the maintenance team to spot opportunities for better efficiency and ongoing improvement.
• Carry out tasks in line with good manufacturing practice and stay focused on completing work safely and thoroughly.
• Help keep maintenance systems running safely and effectively.
• Maintain and troubleshoot controls, sensors, pneumatics, and electrical systems within a busy production setting.
• Use practical engineering skills to identify, diagnose, and fix common issues affecting production machinery.
• Take part in team-based repairs and improvements to resolve process-related problems in the production area.

What We’re Looking For

• A relevant third-level qualification in Engineering or a trade-based discipline.
• Previous experience maintaining manufacturing systems or equipment in a processing plant.
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical automation, including an understanding of both areas.
